A REFUGE FROM THE STREET In July of 2006 a newly created non-profit corporation, Hosanna Home, inherited a lovely 100-year old house located at in an older section of Reno from Faith House Ministries. The property had fallen into disrepair over the course of time and was in need of a lot of work before it would be able to operate as a transitional group home for homeless women. By God's grace and power through the availability and dedication of many local church and community volunteers, the house slowly began to take shape. A year and a half later Hosanna Home opened it's doors, as a beautifully restored refuge from the street. Hosanna Home is an eight-bed, six-month interim shelter which provides a safe, structured community where women and staff work together to meet goals such as housing, employment, family reunification, improved health and education. Access to case management, therapeutic, education and employment services enhances opportunities for women to gain housing stability and income. Hosanna Home is a faith based outreach program that declares the truth of forgiveness and new life through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the wisdom taught in the Holy Bible.
